The lyrics are very basic but speak to the admiration of a woman who is considered a first love. A very nice guitar interlude features after the second verse. It’s a very soothing reggae track with a characteristically prominent but not overpowering bass. “First Love” is the first single off the album. Unlike in McFerrin’s hit the whistling is short lived and replaced by drums, a smooth bass line and guitar. “Fight” is a song of encouragement and upliftment with a simple message to be resilient and aim for your goals.Īnd don’t let them tell you that you can’t,īut don’t you be a fish to the fisherman” “Fight” begins with a whistling melody accompanied by humming and faint percussion in the background quite reminiscent of the 1988 Bobby McFerrin classic “Don’t Worry Be Happy”. Their first studio album “Judgment Day – Music For The Rebels” enjoyed critical acclaim and on that strength they enjoyed a 20+ performance European Tour this summer to help promote the new album.ĭestiny is an eleven (11) track authentic Reggae album which their predecessors and mentors such as the legendary “Third World” can be proud of. Then again this is no “hurry come up” band. The Raging Fyah faithful were seen enthusiastically singing along word for word to older favourites such as “Far Away” and “Judgment Day” as well as to the first single off the new album “First Love”.

The launch was held at Chris Gayle’s “Triple Century Sports Bar” on a Tuesday evening where there was a full house despite the cover charge for entry. Whilst the band has arguably lacked mainstream success in the Jamaican musical landscape, they undoubtedly have garnered somewhat of an underground cult following which was quite evident at the launch of their sophomore album “Destiny” on June 17, 2014. The members are Kumar Bent – Lead Singer Anthony Watson – Drummer Delroy Hamilton – Bass Demar Gayle – Keyboard Courtland White – Guitar. As one listens to the bands’ music, one can appreciate the ambition, positivity and inspiration, which the band represents. It is quite an ambitious statement but it is also a very positive and inspirational one. It seems to be somewhat of a mission statement for the band. This quote is taken from the Biography on Raging Fyah’s official website. “The band is committed to changing the world, note by note, melody by melody spreading light in areas of darkness, growing when conditions seem most bleak, demolishing obstacles without remorse the band just keeps blazing… like a Raging Fyah.”
